• About the Department

  The Department of “Foreign Language Teaching Methodology and Intercultural Communication” trains bachelors in the educational program “6B01705 - Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages” (1, 2, 3 years) and “6B02301 - Translation Studies” (1-4 years)

  The purpose and objectives of the department: training competent and competitive specialists with high professionalism, knowledge and skills, developed foreign language competence in the field of teaching foreign languages and translation for subsequent effective professional activities in a multilingual and multicultural environment; ensuring the intensification of scientific activities of teaching staff, expansion of international relations, development of academic mobility of teaching staff and  students. The activities of the department are organized in accordance with the stated mission, goals and objectives of the university development strategy and are aimed at their implementation.

  The department includes 3 PhD doctors and 19 Masters. The teachers of the department actively participate in international projects and academic mobility programs with foreign universities.

  The mission of the department is to train a competent and competitive specialist with high professionalism and knowledge in the field of teaching foreign languages.

  • International cooperation

  The department closely cooperates with the British Council, the Embassies of the USA, France, Iran, China, Turkey and with International educational and language training centers such as "EduStream", "Al-Ramin", "InterPress", "Macmillan". The department jointly conducts seminars for the exchange of experience and refresher courses.

  The academic staff of the department have completed internships and advanced training courses at foreign universities, such as: University of New Jersey (USA), Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain), Hubei University (China), Beijing University of Technology (China), Istanbul University, Kastamonu University, Omir University Halisdemir (Turkey), University of Lucknow

  (India), Norwich Institute of Linguistics (England), Newcastle University (England) and Stratford University (USA).

  Students of our specialties have the opportunity to study abroad under the academic mobility program at universities of USA, Great Britain, Turkey, Poland, France and China. A two-degree educational program is being implemented with foreign educational institutions, including the Mississippi Valley State University (Mississippi, USA). Students who successfully complete their two-degree education program receive two diplomas: the first is a diploma from the Kazakh National Women's Teacher TrainingUniversity, the second is a diploma from the Mississippi Valley State University.

  Scientific-research work at the department

  From 2020, the Republican Subject Olympiad is being held among students of grade 11. The aim of the Olympiad is to increase the creative potential of students and their interest in learning foreign languages, as well as to guide them in choosing a future profession.

  Also in the grant competition, acting Associate Professor of the Department of Methodology of Teaching Foreign Languages ​​- SadykovaRozaKarimovnawas awarded with the title "The best teacher of the university-2020".

  The project "System of concepts in the worldview of the ancient Turks" presented by the academic staff of the department was recognized as meeting the requirements of the competition for grant funding of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and by the decision of the National Scientific Council dated February 18-23, 2021 (Protocol No. 3) the implementation of the project was started in the direction of the development of science in the field of education and linguistics in the period from 2021 to 2023.
