Dear friends! Welcome to the Institute of Philology of the Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University!
Our institute has prestigious scientific schools and departments with extensive expertise, long-standing research traditions, high-quality education, cultural development, and the integration of science and practice. We are preparing school teachers (instructors) who will carry out the Head of State's proposals, bring daring ideas about a bright future to life, have limitless love for the Motherland, deep intelligence, professional specialists in their field, and sow seeds of knowledge in youngsters as well as morals.
The Institute of Philology, with its rich history, is a breeding ground for genuine scientific and pedagogical workers in our Republic. Our institute is proud of its illustrious graduates that include distinguished instructors, public leaders, and well-known poet-writers of the Republic of Kazakhstan: Rafika Nurtazina, Ushkoltai Sukhanberdina, Aigul Ismakova, Akushtap Baktygereeva, Aliya Bopezhanova, Asiya Berkenova, Asyly Osmanov, etc. Today, our graduates labor in every corner of the huge country, contributing to the education of the next generation. They work in the science and education systems (higher education institutions, colleges, schools, scientific institutes), the press (newspaper-magazine editorial offices, radio and television), local and foreign corporations of all spheres, and the public sector.
The institute consists of six departments and one center. Bachelor's, master's, and doctorate levels offer cutting-edge educational programs, as well as language laboratories. The teaching team is made up of highly trained professionals, comprising 9 doctors of science, 35 candidates for science, 13 PhD doctors, 43 senior teachers, and 14 masters. Students get the option to learn with prominent foreign professors: Lakisha Edwards (English Language Fellow & Sydney Maddox, Fulbright English Teaching Assistant, USA), James Harland (England, Cambridge & Oxford), Marisol Richmond (Fulbright Language Fellow, USA), PhD Safa Celebi (Turkey) and others. We are always willing to collaborate with academics from other universities, therefore professors are invited throughout the academic year and lectures are offered in English. Students not only enhance their communication skills in foreign languages as a result of this experience, but they also obtain valuable knowledge from it.
Academic mobility and dual degree education programs provide our students with opportunity to study at premier universities throughout the world, such as the Mississippi Valley State University, University of Lithuania, University of Silesia in Katowice (Poland), Hubei University (China), Niide Omer Halisdemir University (Turkey), Ondokuz Mayis University (Turkey), Gazi University (Turkey), Ankara Haji Bayram Veli University (Turkey), Anad Olu University (Turkey), Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University (Russian Federation) and others.
The Academic Writing and Language Learning Center teaches English, Korean, Persian, Chinese, Turkish, and several other languages. Prince Anyanwu (UYO) teaches the "Preparation for IELTS" course, while Kevin Harris (USA) conducts the "Speaking Club." The Institute has several clubs and schools, including the scientific club "Izdenis", the scientific-methodical school "Step to science", the scientific-methodical school "45 minutes", the club "Nazkonur", the "Smart-PhiloloG" linguistic scientific club, the students' theater "Tumar", and the "Club for Russian language lovers".
Dissertation Councils are responsible for the defense of theses and the awarding of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees. They are "6D011900 (8D01703) Foreign language: two foreign languages", "6D011700 - Kazakh language and literature" (8D01701), and "6D020500 - Philology" (8D02301).
