The rector of the university paid tribute to the older generation

  ALMATY. December 21. Press center – Honoring citizens who have a unique place in the formation of the University  plays a huge role in the development of the educational institution. On the eve of Independence Day, the Chair of the Management Board – Rector Gulmira Qanay visited the home of Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Kulyash Kunantayeva to congratulate  on the great holiday.

  At the meeting, the academician wished Gulmira Amirkhanovna good luck and gave her a blessing.

  In turn, the rector of the University noted that, coming to the leadership of the only center for training domestic teaching staff, she feels a great responsibility for its fate and future development. As priorities, she put forward such issues as improving the quality of education, social support for teachers and employees, expanding international cooperation, and developing infrastructure.

  – Your contribution to the development of the University is invaluable. We appreciate your hard work within the walls of the educational institution for many years. This is a traffic light for us, – Gulmira Qanay said.

  It should be noted that from 1968 to 1984 Kulyash Kunantayeva held the post of Rector of the Kazakh State Women's Pedagogical Institute.

  Kulyash Kunantayeva, who led the University for 16 years, has raised the educational institution to a new level. During the same period, modern educational buildings and three dormitories were built and put into operation.

  In addition, a canteen, a library and sports complexes with simultaneous meals for 1,200 people were put into operation. Under the direct influence of Kulyash Kunantayeva, an 80-apartment residential building was built, which was transferred to homeless employees and teachers of the Institute.

  During this period, the material base of educational and scientific work of the institute was updated in accordance with the current time, and 12 new laboratories were opened. They are equipped with the latest equipment and have a great opportunity for students to engage in scientific work. In this regard, qualified specialists were invited to the educational institution.

  During the years of K. Kunantayeva's leadership of the institute, the number of students increased from 3,600 to 6,200.

  Under the direct influence of Kulyash Kunantayeva, the vocal and instrumental ensemble «Aigul» was created.

  Kulyash Kunantayevna Kunantayeva is the first Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences  among women of Kazakhstan. She is an outstanding educator who has made a fundamental contribution to the development of domestic pedagogical science, a great teacher, and a figure who has formed her signature in the development of higher education in the country.
