      ALMATY. December 14. Press center – «Azattyk. Atazhurt. Almaty». A personal exhibition of paintings by Marat Turgumbay, a famous artist, member of the Union of Artists of Kazakhstan, academician of the Academy of Arts of Kazakhstan, opened today at the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University.

      The exhibition of the artist Marat Turgumbay, whose work is based on the theme of the country and the region, women, was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of independence.

      The main purpose of the event, organized at the «Art Dara» Gallery, is to promote the love of the artist and future teacher-artists for the Motherland, to promote the achievements of the country during the years of independence through painting. One of the main tasks of the event is to draw public attention to modern works of art, to increase the prestige of artists in society.

      The artist exhibits urban and rural landscapes, portraits of Kazakhstani celebrities, paintings of women "Saginish", "Baqyt", "Armandau", the image of the Kazakh steppe and history is clearly traced in a series of works "Koktem", "Tus", "Kuz".

      The exhibition also features works of future teacher-artists using various genres and techniques, such as applique, batik, oshibana.

      The opening ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University Omarkhan Oxikbayev, members of the Board, the Chair of the Managing Board - Rector Gulmira Qanay, President of the Academy of Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a group of artists and media representatives headed by the laureate of the State Prize Amandos Akanaev.

      The guests of the exhibition expressed their gratitude to the artist and wished him creative success.

      Academician Amandos Akanaev, observing the works of young artists at the exhibition, expressed gratitude for the fact that the disappearing Kazakh art like felting, different types of embroidery, are not lost, but are reviving again.

      It's worth noting that the exhibition will last until December 30.
