What is a creative librarian?

  ALMATY. December 9. Press center – In order to increase the prestige of the specialty «Library Science», and to increase the professional potential of future librarians at the university was organized a competition  «What should be a creative librarian?»

  It was attended by students of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University, M. Auezov South Kazakhstan State University, Pavlodar State University named after S. Toraighyrov and Kaskelen College of Culture, studying in the specialty «Library Science».

  Participants of the competition competed in 4 stages and performed various tasks in accordance with their profession. They presented special research projects in the field of libraries.

  – You cannot tell in one word about the interesting but difficult profession of a librarian. Few know and most do not notice the great work of the librarian who works hard to guide the reader into the world of books. Obviously, the profession of a librarian, who preserves our sacred treasures like books, is one of the most important professions. Our main goal in organizing this competition was to raise the status of this profession, – said the director of the Scientific Library Bakhytzhamal Bagasharova.

  The winners of the competition were awarded with prizes and thank you letters.

  P.S.: The Department of Library Science and Bibliography at the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University was opened in September 1956 at the Faculty of Language and Literature. Since this year, more than 5,000 graduates have completed their education in major “Library science”.
