      The Rector of the University participated in the anti-corruption meeting

      ALMATY. October 22. Press Center – Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan Marat Akhmetzhanov held a session on the issues of anti-corruption in higher education today in Almaty.

      The meeting brought together Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askhat Aimagambetov, Akim of Almaty Bakytzhan Sagintayev, rectors of higher educational institutions of the country, scientific and expert community.

      The meeting, discussed the main issues related to the topic of combating corruption in higher education, the Chair of the Board-Rector of the University Gulmira Qanay took part in the meeting, where she got acquainted with the draft Concept of anti-Corruption Policy for 2022-2026.

      – Corruption in the education system posing a direct challenge to the future of the State. There are tools to prevent it; you just need to use them. Therefore, our common task is to take all necessary measures to minimize and eliminate it. To educate and graduate from universities worthy citizens of our country who value honest work and take care of their homeland, – said the head of the Anti-Corruption Agency.

      At the same time, the meeting also discussed the implementation of anti-corruption compliance services in the universities and the implementation of comprehensive plans for the formation of an anti-corruption culture among students in the country. The Anti-Corruption Agency and its territorial divisions will provide all possible methodological assistance in terms of opening these services in the structure of universities, as well as organizing the work of the anti-corruption Compliance Institute.

      Taking into consideration the format of the meeting in the form of an “open dialogue”, the scientific community and the leadership of universities shared their opinions and ideas on the implementation of anti-corruption policy in the field of education.

      At the end of the meeting, The Memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Anti-Corruption Agency and the Ministry of Education and Science. The parties discussed plans and projects of joint work.
