On September 27, 2025, as part of the III International Conference “Chess in Education” held in Almaty, international experts visited the innovative KazChessLab laboratory located at the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University.

This unique facility, created jointly by the Kazakhstan Chess Federation and QyzPU, represents an important initiative toward integrating chess into the educational process.

During the visit, delegates had the opportunity to see firsthand the practical application of educational concepts discussed at the conference. The experts also reviewed the implementation of a training model for a new generation of women educators specializing in chess in Kazakhstan. This project stands as a vivid example of successful cooperation between the Federation and the country’s leading pedagogical university.

Vagan Sarkisyan, Scientific Director of the Chess Research Institute at the Armenian State Pedagogical University, shared his experience of introducing chess into the educational system of his country. The lecture by Jerry Nash, Chair of the FIDE “Chess in Education” Commission, attracted significant interest among participants. He emphasized the crucial role of primary school teachers in developing children’s logical thinking and conducted a small masterclass demonstrating how these skills can be nurtured through chess.

Also attending the event were Leonche Garcia, Senior Advisor to the FIDE “Chess in Education” Commission; Marc Beig, a primary school chess teacher and member of the Chess and Education Observatory at the University of Girona; and Rita Atkins, Secretary of the FIDE “Chess in Education” Commission.

Guests were introduced to the infrastructure and methodological capabilities of KazChessLab, as well as the first projects of students from the “Chess Teacher” program. This visit enabled international experts not only to explore new facets of chess integration into Kazakhstan’s educational system but also to highly appreciate the country’s advancing pedagogical practices.
