    • Thank you, veterans!

98 year old Zhabataeva Darbala Amirzhanovna and 99 year old Baranova Ekaterina Alexandrovna are veterans of the Great Patriotic War.

The youth of the veterans was spent in wartime. One of them treated soldiers in the hospital, and the other identified the number of fascists, the firing point and promptly reported to the headquarters.

Darbala Amirzhanovna studied in the 8th grade when the Great Patriotic War began. Many men in the collective farm were called to the front. There were not enough workers, 14-15-year-old schoolchildren were taken to the fields to help with harvesting, including Darbala. When the wheat was brought, the girl, along with other guys, helped to send it to the front. Then Darbala, along with five girls, volunteered for the front. They were sent through the military enlistment office to signalmen's courses in Sverdlovsk. She determined the number of fascists, the point of attack and promptly informed the headquarters. Today, the veteran lives with his daughter. Darbala Amirzhanova is a loving grandmother of five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Ekaterina Alexandrovna, after graduating from seven grades, entered the Starooskolsky Medical College as a paramedic. Soon after, the war began. In 1943, the area was liberated and Catherine was taken into the army and assigned to work in a hospital. Until the very end of the war, Ekaterina treated the wounded. The victory was celebrated in the city of Karlovy Vary (Czechoslovakia).
