      Nesibeli Toktasyn, a student of the Institute of Arts and Management of the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University, became the winner of the Republican competition of student scholarships organized by the Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation.

      Today the girl is studying at the university, majoring in «Choreography». Previously, he participated in scientific and practical conferences of young scientists, won international and national art competitions and subject Olympiads as part of the dance ensemble «Tomiris».

      354 applications were received from Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Shymkent, Turkestan, Taraz, Aktobe, Karaganda, Kokshetau, Kostanay, Pavlodar, Petropavlovsk, Semey, Taldykorgan and Ust-Kamenogorsk from June 22 to September 5 this year. Following the results of two rounds 80 students became winners.

      The winners of the "Zhuzden-Zhuyrik" were awarded a special monthly stipend of 40 thousand tenge by the Foundation and the status of "Fellow of the Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation."

      The main purpose of the competition, which is organized for the tenth time, is to increase the educational, scientific and creative potential of students studying in higher and secondary special educational institutions in the field of art and culture.

      According to the Foundation, 719 people have been awarded the scholarships so far.

      During the competition, students' academic performance, prestige among students and teachers, activity in the social, research and practical activities of the university were analyzed. Candidates' transcripts, certificates, diplomas, and participation in scientific conferences with high GPA scores during the two years of study were also taken into account.

      - For many years, the scholarship of the Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation has been a high motivation and support for active and talented students of Kazakhstan. It is true that during the pandemic, students faced new challenges due to the transition to distance learning, restrictions on social interaction with each other. Support, such as a monthly stipend, will inspire them to new achievements in these difficult times and will continue to motivate them to excel in their studies, - said Sergey Tokhtarov, Director of the Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation in Almaty.

      The Foundation's scholarship is set for one academic year, and its holders can apply for other incentives established by the state for successful study.
