ALMATY. APRIL 29. PRESS CENTER - The Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University held a meeting on measures to prevent financial pyramid schemes. At the meeting, a representative of the prosecutor's office of Almalinsk district and a group of employees of the public foundation "Social House Rakhym" gave explanatory lectures to students.
Today, many people complain that they were trapped and deceived by financial pyramid schemes. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also gave special instructions to the authorities to combat such organizations.
Special explanatory work on how to avoid financial pyramid schemes was organized by the university's department for work with students. The meeting was opened by the vice-rector for strategic development and social work Zhanar Rysbekova.
Deputy Prosecutor of Almaly district Iskanov Akan gave examples of 48 cases of pyramid schemes, launched in 3 years in Almaty, more than 1000 victims were registered, the total amount of financial losses was 2.5 billion tenges. He explained to the students that it is desirable not to bring criminal cases, and to beware of such illegal establishments.
According to Bibinur Sheralieva, the head of the public fund "Social House Rakhym", most of those deceived by pyramid schemes, who applied to the fund for help, were students. The way to solve this problem was to conduct explanatory work with students studying in higher education institutions, together with specialists.
Bibinur Sheralieva invited the heroine, who fell into the trap of a financial pyramid, was deceived, and suffered great losses, as a result, she lost her family and her job. The victim told the students in detail about her experience and exposed the activities of such illegal organizations.
Rysbek Taizhanov, a lawyer of the "Social House Rakhym" Public Foundation, explained to the students how to act within the law.
Dmitry Akmaev, the chief specialist of the external relations department of the Financial Regulation Agency, explained the system of financial pyramids, and clearly showed schemes and examples.
The meeting ended with a question and an exchange of opinions among students, who provided the youth with the necessary information on how to avoid financial pyramid schemes, and what to do in case of fraud.
