      Museum Fund expanded with new exhibits

      ALMATY. FEBRUARY 1. PRESS CENTER – The museum of University «Aqtumar»  has replenished with materials from the personal archive of Seilbek Isayev, who headed the university from 1989 through 1999. Books, diplomas and other documents of the scientist were presented by his daughter, Nurzhauar Seilbekovna.

      In the future the number of exhibits will increase.

      One of the prominent representatives of Kazakh linguistics, a famous scholar, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Seilbek Isayev has made a great contribution to the development of the University. We bring to your attention a chronology of work done during his tenure as rector.

       

      • 1989

      One of the innovations in the educational process since 1989 was the introduction of a special course «National pedagogy» in connection with the national traditions.

      In order to train teachers for all specialties a special course «Customs, traditions of the Kazakh people» began to be held.

       

      • 1990

      For the first time in the history of the institute it was opened the doctoral studies and postgraduate programs on 16 specialties.

       

      • 1991

      Since 1991 in connection with increasing the number of students in the structure of academic divisions of the institute had been changed. There was an internal division of faculties, opening of new departments and specialties.

       

      • 1994

      In 1994 the Kazakh State Women's Pedagogical Institute celebrated its 50th anniversary. That year a book «Tulips, tulips...» about half a century of university life was published.

       

      • 1995

      Dissertation councils for three specialties were opened.

       

      P.S.: Seilbek Isayev graduated with honors in 1957 from the Russian-Kazakh Teachers College in Omsk, and in 1962 he graduated from the Philological Faculty of the present Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi.

      From 1962 to 1968 he worked as a researcher at the Institute of Linguistics of the Kazakh SSR Academy of Sciences, from 1968 to 1975 as a senior lecturer at the Kazakh language department of the Kazakh State Teacher Training Institute, from 1975 to 1987 as a dean, from 1980 to 1988 as a head of the department, in 1988-1989 was the head of the Kazakh language department at the Kazakh State Pedagogical Institute named after Abay.

      In March 1989, Seilbek Isayev was elected rector of the Kazakh State Women's Pedagogical Institute.

      Seilbek Isayev trained several scientists and formed his own school.

      About 200 scientific works were published under his authorship.

      He is a scientist who skillfully combined organizational, pedagogical, and social activities with science.
