ALMATY. 11 JANUARY. PRESS CENTER – Today, at the plenary session of the Mazhilis of the Parliament, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev outlined a number of important tasks to address pressing issues in the political and socio-economic spheres of the country. In particular, the new approach to solving the problem of the shortage of teachers in the regions, proposed by the President, pleased the Kazakh pedagogical community.
This was announced by the Chair of the Managing Board – Rector of the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University Gulmira Qanay.
– In recent years, the country has carried out significant reforms in the field of secondary education, which are being implemented systematically. Among them, the assessment system, the updated educational program, the pedagogical approaches were updated. In addition, a new inclusive education policy has been introduced. We know that the Law on the Status of Teachers has significantly contributed to the growth of the prestige of the teaching profession in society and the growth of their salaries. Today, as a continuation of this process, the President instructed to develop a set of appropriate measures to support regions with a shortage of teaching staff and a special program to attract the best teachers to the regions. We are confident that this will become a new breakthrough in pedagogical education, – noted Gulmira Qanay.
According to the head of the pedagogical university, improving the quality of human capital is the main mechanism for ensuring the development of society. And the implementation of the promotion of the intellectual potential of society depends on the teachers.
– I think that domestic pedagogical universities need to raise the training of talented teachers to a new level. In this regard, it is necessary to pay special attention to the quality of future specialists. I want to say that the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University is a university, the main goal of which is to provide quality pedagogical education. The university staff intends to analyze the tasks set by the President and implement new ideas. In this regard, special comprehensive plans will be adopted. We are confident that these measures will contribute to the successful implementation of the program proposed by the President to eliminate the shortage of teaching staff in the country, – said the Rector of the University.
