      ALMATY. December 7. Press center – Dave Chan, PhD, Professor of the University of Alberta, Canada, gave a series of lectures to doctoral students in the educational programs «Computer Science», «Mathematics» and «Physics» of our University.

      In the lecture «Numerical Methods in Computer Modeling» students learned modern methods of solving scientific and engineering problems.

      Dave Chan not only taught in the context of the topic, but also gave advice on the optimal organization of research, computer modeling of the project, quantitative and qualitative analysis of research results.

      At the end of the course, doctoral students passed an exam and received certificates based on the results of their education.

      Professor Dave Chan has been conducting research in the field of computer modeling of natural phenomena for many years.

      The scientist is a world-renowned specialist as a developer of new methods of finite and discrete elements used in computer modeling of natural phenomena. Author of more than 100 scientific papers indexed by Scopus, with Hirsch index  of 21.

      In addition, the Canadian scientist together with Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics of the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University Rysbek Baimakhan develops and implements research projects.

      As a result of the partnership between the two scientists, an international memorandum was signed between the University of Alberta, Canada and our University on the joint preparation of research papers and projects with students, as well as mutual research internships.

      Today it is planned to revive the partnership between the two universities.
