50 best scientists of Kazakhstan will receive 6 million tenges

  ALMATY. November 17. Press center – 50 best scientists of Kazakhstan will receive 6 million tenges. Cash prizes will be awarded based on the results of the republican competition «The best researcher». This is the first large-scale award to support scientists. Acceptance of applications began on November 15.

  The purpose of the competition is to encourage the work of scientists and researchers who have made a significant contribution to the development of domestic science.

  – At present, there is a qualitatively new stage of development in domestic science. The developments of our scientists are entering the world market. We recently announced that 14 Kazakh scientific developments will be exported to China, Russia, Turkey, Georgia, the Czech Republic, and Kyrgyzstan. On behalf of the President, the Ministry pays special attention to the support of scientists and research organizations, employees of higher and postgraduate education. Measures are being developed and implemented to stimulate Kazakhstani scientists and increase the prestige of scientific activity. This year, for the first time, the ministry will award 50 prizes to the best scientists of the country. Each of them will receive about 6 million tenges. All criteria for evaluating scientific achievements have been developed in collaboration with the scientific and expert community. The competition commission included leading scientists of the country and representatives of scientific public associations working in various fields, – said the chairman of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science Zhanna Kurmangaliyeva. 

  Applications for participation in the competition are accepted in electronic format through the information system of the Ministry https://universitycontest.iac.kz/bestresearcher/ until December 15. Candidates' scientific achievements will be evaluated on such criteria as an academic degree, academic title, availability of scientific publications and monographs, management of research projects and programs. In this case, the candidate must have taught at least one subject at the university in the last year, as well as train personnel with a PhD in the last 3 years and participate in the work of advisory bodies on science. In addition, the contestant must present the results of the implementation of scientific developments in production.
