The works of scientists were introduced at the exhibition

  ALMATY. October 15. Press center – Within the framework of the celebration a book exhibition entitled «Education and Science are in Books» was held at  the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University.

  The exhibition featured the works of local scientists published during the period of independence of our country, and presented new printed products of the publishing houses «Almanakh» and «Kazakh University».

  In the official part of the event, Chair of the Board – Rector of Kazakh national women's teacher training university Gulmira Qanay congratulated the staff of the scientific library on their professional holiday and emphasised the important role that their profession plays in social life.

  

  - The library is a treasure of high intelligence and integrity. A source of knowledge and science. Librarians are known to be the intermediary between books and readers. Your work is greatly important in preserving a trove of knowledge and enhancing national capacities. I congratulate you on the occasion of your professional holiday and wish your families well-being, success in your hard work, - said the Rector of the University.

  In addition, during the event the Rector of the University awarded a group of library staff with a thank you note, for their contribution to the development of the institution. Gulzira Kozhamkulova, Ulbala Nysanbayeva, Asel Ospan, Ainara Nurgozhayeva, Talshyn Khamzina, Kuanysh Kobenov and Aibol Zhumadilov were awarded with a thank you notes.

  

  The Rector also presented the “Honorable librarian badge” to Almagul Kenzhebekova, Asemgul Mustakhmetova, and the “Excellent librarian badge” to Aigul Markhabayeva, Bakhyt Sagyndyk and Guldana Kaliyeva.

  

  The library of Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University switched to an automated library-information system in 2000. Then it was awarded the status of scientific library, the same year the Thomson Reuters full-text interactive sources were presented on Springerlink platform, The Web Knowledge. The Digital Library collection with full-text e-textbooks and an e-resource centre was opened in 2012.

  

  The library, which first started with a book collection of 3,190 books, now has more than 1 million copies.
