A practical workshop titled “Fundamentals of Financial Literacy” was held at the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University (QyzPU), organized by the Department of Personality Development and the Center for Women’s Leadership and Entrepreneurship for first-year students.
The goal of the event was to cultivate financial awareness among students, support the development of their professional and personal potential, and contribute to shaping socially responsible and competitive individuals.
Students from all faculties took part in the workshop. Participants gained practical knowledge on managing personal finances, budgeting, saving money, and avoiding debt.
The speaker was certified coach and author of the book “Sen”, Azamat Skakov. He shared key principles of effective personal finance management and introduced modern strategies for planning income and expenses. Participants also received actionable advice on rational use of income and benefits, building a saving habit, and avoiding financial dependency.
In addition, Gulzira Bekkalieva, Head of the Center for Women’s Leadership and Entrepreneurship, presented the center’s annual work plan to students, highlighting upcoming projects and new opportunities.
The workshop encouraged students to view the financial world from a new perspective, approach life planning more consciously, and take their first steps toward financial independence.
Second-year student of the “Two Foreign Languages” program, Araylym Yerbolatova, shared her impressions of the event:
“Azamat Skakov played a big role in preparing me psychologically for the UNT. His book ‘Sen’ inspired my personal growth, and I was very excited to learn he would be visiting our university. During the meeting, we talked not only about financial literacy, but also about spiritual growth and self-discovery. I’m sure I’ll apply his advice in my life. I’m grateful to the university for this opportunity.”
This event was implemented in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
- SDG 4 – Quality Education
- SDG 5 – Gender Equality
- SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth
- SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals
The initiative aimed to enhance students’ financial literacy, support their professional growth, and prepare them for successful careers in the labor market.
