A festive event titled "Ana tilim – ardagym (My Mother Tongue – My Pride)" was held in Almaty to mark the Day of Languages of the People of Kazakhstan and the birthday of the prominent educator Akhmet Baitursynov. The event was organized by the Akimat of Almaty in cooperation with the Institute for the Development of the State Language and QyzPU.
The gathering brought together representatives of public service, science and education, figures from the arts and culture, NGO members, and youth. As part of the event, participants laid flowers at the monument to Akhmet Baitursynov and honored the memory of the Great Teacher.
The event opened ceremonially with welcome speeches from officials. Participants shared meaningful thoughts on the role of the native language in society, the development of national spirituality and culture, and the legacy of Akhmet Baitursynov.
Guests were treated to quizzes on the Kazakh language, national arts, literature, and the heritage of Akhmet Baitursynov. Winners received commemorative gifts. A concert performance by renowned artists added a special festive atmosphere, followed by a youth dance evening that continued the celebration.
The event "My Mother Tongue – My Pride" became an important cultural initiative aimed at strengthening the status of the state language, preserving national identity, and fostering respect for the native language among the younger generation.
