Today, as part of the International Scientific and Practical Conference titled “The Transformation of Turkic Peoples’ Aitys,” organized by the Department of Choreography and Art Management of the Institute of Social and Humanitarian Sciences and Arts, a significant event in the cultural and spiritual life of the country took place. The event was dedicated to exploring the historical roots of aitys, the shared cultural values of Turkic peoples, and its development in the modern context.
The conference featured discussions among scholars and cultural figures about the importance of aitys in contemporary society, its influence on youth, and the historical evolution of the aitys art form in the Turkic world. The event became a vivid example of the harmonious fusion of science and art, reflecting the aspiration for spiritual revival.
Within the framework of the conference, a unique Republican student aitys was held on the theme “Educated Girls — the Foundation of the Nation.” The main goal of the aitys was to support talented youth and open new opportunities for their creative and spiritual development. Through aitys, students received patriotic, civic, cultural, and aesthetic education. Another important task was to instill national values and Kazakh traditions among young people.
Talented students from various higher education institutions across the country participated, demonstrating their improvisational skills. The young akyns (poets) not only competed artistically but also shared their thoughts on national identity, education, and the role of women in society. The jury consisted of well-known aitys performers and university lecturers. Decisions were made by jury voting, with the chairperson having the final say in the event of a tie.
As a result of the competition, the 3rd place was awarded to Sanjar Dayarbek, a student of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University. The 2nd place went to Ali Ermekuly from S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University. The 1st place was taken by Daniyal Bolysbek from U. Zhanibekov South Kazakhstan Pedagogical University. The grand prize was awarded to Dilnaz Yerzhigit, a student of Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University.
The aitys became an excellent opportunity to strengthen cooperation and friendly ties between higher education institutions, as well as to exchange experiences among creative youth. It was not only a competition of art but also a symbol of spiritual unity and harmony.
