On April 20, Almaty hosted a military-patriotic relay race dedicated to the bright memory of Hero of the Soviet Union Aliya Moldagulova, a symbol of courage, fortitude and dedication of Kazakhstani women on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War.

The event was organized by the Almaty city branch of the People's Party of Kazakhstan together with the Mercury Medet Specialized Training Center LLP with the support of the Almaty City Youth Policy Department.

The main goal of the relay race was to preserve historical memory, honor the exploits of national heroes, as well as develop patriotism, social activity, civic responsibility among young people and a culture of safe handling of weapons.

As part of the relay program, the participants demonstrated their skills by overcoming a sports obstacle course (passing benches and barriers), shooting from airsoft weapons (pistol and machine gun), and also competing in team competitions consisting of five people. The winners were determined based on the total time to complete all stages and the points scored for accuracy.

Six teams from five higher education institutions took part in the competition, competing for the title of the best. According to the results of the relay: 3rd place was taken by the team of Satbayev University, 2nd place - by the team of the Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov, 1st place went to the QyzPU team.

This military-patriotic relay gave a powerful impetus to the formation of historical consciousness among young people, the continuation of the traditions of heroism and strengthening of love for the Motherland. We express our gratitude to all the young participants of the event and wish them further success on the path to high goals and great achievements!
