    • QyzPU & MSU: Meeting on Improving the Quality of Education

On April 10-11, a meeting with participation of the faculty and experts of educational programs of the Michigan State University College of Education (USA) was held at QyzPU.

The main goal of the event was to bring the content of educational programs in line with international standards and improve their quality.

The guests of the meeting were Associate Professor, PhD Betsann Smith, Coordinator of Educational Programs Samantha Caughlan and Program Coordinator, Deputy Director of the Office of International Educational Research, PhD Nancy Roming.
“We are partners of the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University. Our main areas are teacher training and leadership development.

In this area, we are in a leading position in the USA. In order for education to continue to develop, we are always looking for international partnerships. We are ethically obliged to ensure that the academic and social needs of students are fully met. This responsibility applies not only to preschool and primary education, but also to higher education in colleges. Therefore, we are very pleased with the established close cooperation with the university departments and specialists developing educational programs,” said Deputy Director of the Office of International Educational Research, PhD Nancy Roming.

During the two-day meeting, the issues of the content of syllabuses and the specifics of the development of educational programs at the University of Michigan based on scientific research were discussed.

Professor Betsann Smith spoke about approaches typical for the American school system based on interaction between the main participants in the educational process - teachers, administration, parents, government agencies and local communities. And the coordinator of educational programs Samantha Caughlan gave practical recommendations on the development and improvement of educational programs.

As a result of the meeting, the parties exchanged experiences and developed specific proposals for bringing the educational process in line with modern requirements. Such international cooperation in the future will significantly improve the quality of education and strengthen the competitiveness of QyzPU students.
