Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University held a solemn ceremony to open classrooms on chemistry and geography. One of them was named after Professor Alim Birmagambetov, who made a significant contribution to the development of geographical science in Kazakhstan, and the other was named after the candidate of pedagogical sciences, Professor Abdulla Myrzabayevich, who had a significant impact on the development of chemistry teaching methods in Kazakhstan.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the University Omarkhan Nurtayuly, candidate of pedagogical sciences, acting professor of the Department of Geography Kulash Mamirova, as well as the wife of Professor Abdulla Myrzabayevich Erkin Turbekovna, who cut the red ribbon.
"A teacher must have a lot of knowledge, since he teaches children. Today, the technical equipment in schools is at a high level. Our students must be able to work with this equipment. If they receive education from highly qualified teachers, their contribution to the economy of our country will be significant. That is why we have set a goal to update laboratories in all disciplines. I believe in teachers and students of our university. I wish them successful work in this field," said Chairman of the Board of Directors Omarkhan Oksikbayev.
Alim Birmagambetov began working at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Geography of the University in September 1960 and worked fruitfully for more than 50 years. This scientist and teacher is a vivid example of sincere dedication to geographical science and his profession. The professor wrote more than 250 scientific papers, including 7 textbooks for schools, training aids and educational programs.
The classroom named after Alim Birmagambetov was opened to perpetuate his significant contribution to the development of science and geographical education. In this classroom, students will be able to deepen their knowledge of geography and engage in new research.
"Today is a significant and joyful day at our institute. In honor of Alim Birmagambetov, a geography methodological office was opened, where his works, scientific achievements and contribution to education are presented. Information about his works is posted in the office in the form of a QR code, which opens up great opportunities for students. We are confident that this office will become an important knowledge center for students. Alim Birmagambetov still actively supports our master's and doctoral students with his scientific and methodological works, remaining a tireless mentor and an outstanding person among us. His work is of great importance for our university," said the director of the Institute of Natural Sciences Gaukhar Baitasheva.
Close relatives of the scientist also took part in the event. They expressed gratitude to the university administration and wished success to future specialists in the field of geography.
"The importance of this classroom is very great. His works dedicated to Kazakhstan, various scientific research, school teaching aids, anthologies and various books will have a great influence on students, I am sure of it. On my own behalf, I would like to express my gratitude to the university administration and colleagues,” said Alim Birmagambetuly’s daughter-in-law, candidate of pedagogical sciences, acting professor of the geography department Kulash Mamirova.
The chemistry classroom, named after Abdulla Myrzabayevich, was opened to commemorate his career in the field of education in Kazakhstan and his significant contribution to the development of chemistry teaching methods.
Abdulla Myrzabayevich was accepted to the chemistry department in 1960 as a senior lecturer. While working at the institute, he not only taught chemistry teaching methods, but was also actively involved in scientific research. He translated into Kazakh language basic textbooks on the methodology of teaching chemistry, published in Russian. In addition, the professor has written and published more than 20 teaching aids to help students gain an in-depth understanding of chemistry and improve their practical skills.
"I would like to call Abdulla Myrzabaevich not just a teacher, but a great personality. His work is immortal, because our respected mentor worked at the university for 47 years, wrote more than twenty teaching aids, showed students effective ways to master chemistry and left them a valuable legacy. The works of Abdulla Myrzabaevich are stored in the library of our university and are used in students' research work," said Director of the Institute of Natural Sciences Gaukhar Baitasheva.
The classroom contributes to a deeper understanding of chemistry by students and improvement of their practical skills. It is equipped with modern equipment and is focused on the development of practical skills of students.
These audiences will have a significant impact on students' quality education, research skills and professional competencies.
