    • QyzPU hosted a training seminar for scientists from higher education institutions and research institutes

      On November 8, a training seminar for scholars from universities and research institutes was successfully held at the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University, organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

      The seminar aimed to implement item 52 of the Action Plan for the Language Policy Development Concept of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023–2029 and focused on methods for adding scientific and encyclopedic articles, publications, and data to Wikipedia.

      Gulziya Sakenovna Alshynova, Chief Expert of the Language Policy Implementation Department at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan opened the seminar.

      During the event, Wikipedia administrators Alimzhan Batyrbek and AmangeldiMukhamedzhanov introduced participants to the core principles of creating and editing articles on the Wikipedia platform. Participants gained valuable information on making their scientific research and knowledge accessible to the public and learned the requirements for writing and posting article.

      The seminar saw active participation from scholars representing Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, K. I. Satbayev Kazakh National Technical University, as well as other universities and research institutes such as the A. Kh. MargulanInstitute of Archaeology and the A. BaitursynulyInstitute of Linguistics.

      This event marked one of the initial steps toward expanding and developing scientific content in the Kazakh language on Wikipedia. The Ministry plans to continue supporting domestic scholars in sharing their research results with society and in promoting Kazakhstan's scientific content at the international level.
