    • QYZPU to open a new Master's degree programme with the United Nations

The Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University will develop a new Master's degree programme "Gender Studies". Thus, for the first time in Kazakhstan there will be scientists in the field of gender studies. The project will be implemented with the support of UN Women in Kazakhstan.

Dina Amrisheva, acting head of UN Women, visited the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University to discuss the unique project. The representative of the international organisation and rector Gulmira Kanai talked about increasing the number of specialists in the field of gender equality through the introduction of gender academic courses and master's programmes in higher education in Kazakhstan. This is how the UN wants to speed up the process of introducing gender equality standards.

The new Master's degree programme "Gender Studies" will be adapted to the standards of Kazakhstan's higher education system. The programme is planned to be launched in 2025.

It should be noted that this initiative of UN Women in Kazakhstan was supported by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. As a result, the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University will become the first national higher education institution in Kazakhstan to introduce gender studies.
