Students and faculty of the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University were delighted with the unique opportunity to learn from a renowned American education scholar, Professor Douglas Hartman, who came to the university to conduct a fascinating seminar on "Finding the Gaps in Literary Studies". This event generated incredible interest among students and faculty, and the event lived up to expectations.
In his seminar, the professor shared his knowledge and experience with the audience by talking about methods and approaches to finding gaps in literary research. One of the key points of the seminar was to discuss the importance of finding gaps in literary studies. Prof. Hartman emphasized that every literary work has its own meaningful aspects that can be missed if attention to details is not paid. He also discussed various methods and techniques of analyzing texts that can help researchers identify aspects that may have been missed by others.
The seminar also included interactive exercises and discussions where students could discuss their ideas and questions with Prof. Hartman. These discussions were a great opportunity for students to express their thoughts and get the opinion of a professional in their field.
Such seminars are important not only for students, but also for the university community as a whole. Meetings with experienced and recognized scientists can inspire young researchers and show them new paths in their academic career. In addition, such events facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience between scholars from different countries and cultures, which is important in today's world where globalization plays a key role.
As a reminder, Douglas Hartman is a professor in the Department of Technology and Human Learning in the College of Education at Michigan State University. For nearly 30 years he's served as a faculty member at universities in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and Michigan. With colleagues, Hartman has published almost 100 articles, chapters, and technical reports. His sole edited book, Stories Teachers Tell, was re-written as a reader's theater and performed off-Broadway in New York City. Hartman's current research interests focus on technologies and their use for human learning as well as the history of teaching & learning.
