Opening of a plaque in memory of the first female rector took place at QYZPU

  Today in the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University was held the opening of a memorial plaque in honor of the first woman rector, director of the Kazakh State Women's Pedagogical Institute (1945-1959), honored teacher of the Kazakh SSR Tursyn Myrzabekova.

  The plaque with the image of Tursyn Myrzabekova and the words "Ұстаз атыңыздың алдында кішіпейілдікпен бас июге рұқсат етіңіз" appeared at the main entrance of Educational Building No. 1 of the Kazakh National Women's Pedagogical University, which was built during the years of her leadership of the higher educational institution.

  The opening of a memorial plaque in honour of Tursyn Myrzabekova was the beginning of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Kazakh National Women's Pedagogical University.

                                                                  

  Her students, relatives and friends came to the university for the opening of the plaque. Officials of the Almaty City Akimat also came to the historical important event. The head of the department of culture management Arman Khalbekov on behalf of the Akim of the city congratulated the leadership of the University on the opening of the memorial plaque and expressed gratitude for the contribution to the development of national education.

  Also respected guests of the opening were candidate of historical sciences, honoured figure of Kazakhstan, state and public figure Bibatyrova Gayniken Aidarkhanovna and doctor of geological-mineralogical sciences, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan, laureate of the state prize named after K.I. Satbaev, daughter of T. Myrzabekova Seitmuratova Eleonora Yusupovna.

  Many warm words about Tursyn Myrzabekova were spoken at the memorial plaque unveiling ceremony. All speakers noted the significant contribution made by the honoured teacher.

                                                                     

  In her speech, the Chairman of the Board - Rector of the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University Gulmira Kanai noted that Tursyn Myrzabekova paid great attention to the teaching staff.

  "She invited famous and educated teachers-scientists, poets-writers - M.Auezov, T.Tazhibaev, A.Margulan for enlightenment and educational work. Great personalities often took part in literary evenings held at the institute. Thus, she gave the students full opportunity to get education. She worked hard to organise the library of the institute. Under her, physical education, singing and dancing classes were started. As a result, the students won prizes at competitions of the republic and the union," the rector said.

  Recall, Myrzabekova Tursyn Myrzabekovna Myrzabekovna was appointed director of the Kazakh State Women's Pedagogical Institute a year after the opening of the institute.
