QYZPU plans to launch a double degree programme with the University of Sussex

    • QYZPU plans to launch a double degree programme with the University of Sussex

To make such a grandiose step in the educational history of Kazakhstan QYZPU allows the British Council grant, which the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University won jointly with the University of Sussex in early September.

That is, soon QYZPU students will receive two diplomas of education: a diploma of the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University and a diploma of the University of Sussex. The principle of these programmes is that students master certain disciplines at QYZPU, and the rest - in a foreign partner university, with recognition of credits in both.

According to Zakir Jumakulov, Vice-Rector for Research and International Cooperation, the possibility of opening a joint programme is currently being assessed and a strategic plan for cooperation under the grant is being developed.

This has become possible thanks to the support of the Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek. It is on his initiative to work on internationalisation with higher education institutions from around the world, which have significant experience, in order to develop the systems of higher and teacher education in Kazakhstan.

The size of the grant is 10 thousand pounds sterling, at today's exchange rate in tenge - almost 6 million.  Zakir Jumakulov

Recall, earlier 15 teachers and doctoral students of the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University have already successfully completed a programme of advanced training at the University of Sussex within the framework of the memorandum, which was signed during the official visit of the QYZPU delegation to the UK in the summer of this year.
