A special literary event was held on the occasion of famous Kazakh poet Mukaghali Makataev's birthday

  February 9th , 2023 at 14:30 in the Assembly Hall there was a  special literary event held on the occasion of the 92nd anniversary of famous Kazakh poet Mukaghali Makataev’s birthday, writer and translator whose extraordinary poetry is full of national color. The event was held at Kazakh National Women's teacher training University, the Institute of Philology, the Department of Applied foreign language among 1st, 2nd year students, teachers of the department and invited guests.

  The topic: "Qazaqtyn qara oleni - qudiretim" (My power is in Kazakh poems).

  The aim:

  1. To review the life and work of the poet, whose fame became known not only in our

  country but worldwide, 2) to commemorate the power of poetry and songs of the poet full of national color 3) To awaken feelings of love and patriotism in students for the motherland through literature and teach them to value national heritage.

  The event were attended by a film worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, academician of the Art Academy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, holder of the Order “Kurmet” (Honor), professor Shayakhmet Imashuly, researcher at the Akhmet Baitursynuly Institute of Linguistics, translator, turkologist Zhakyp Maksutkhan Amanzhanuly and winner of the festival of pedagogical ideas, organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republican Scientific and Practical Center "Daryn". And also the author of translations of the poet's poems into English dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Mukagali Makataev, teacher and translator Khalyk Gaukhar Zheldibaykyzy.

  During the event, students read Muksghali Makataev’s poems and sang songs created on his verses. They performed a scene based on one of poet’s works and played Kazakh kui.

  At the end of the event, Gaukhar Khalyk presented her book, translation of poetry entitled "Still life” by Ulugbek Yesdaulet to students who actively participated in the literary event dedicated to the Decade of Mukaghali Makataev. Also Maksuthan Amanzhanuly donated about 30 books to the university library.
