According to the reports of news agency www.el.kz team from Kazakhstan took the honorable third place in women's cross-country skiing at the XXXI International Universiade held in the USA. the The team includes our student of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports - Aisha Rakisheva.
The honor of our country at the Universiade was defended by Aisha Rakisheva, Nadezhda Stepashkina, Ksenia Shalygina. As a result of the performance, they received an honorable 3rd place and won a bronze medal.
Aisha is an international master of sports in cross-country skiing, a member of the national team of the Republic of Kazakhstan and one of the most promising talented young people among the fastest athletes. She were the Olympic Games in Lausanne, Switzerland, the Asian Championship 2020, the I Winter Games "Children of Asia" and numerous victories in cross-country skiing in Kazakhstan.
At the moment, more than 11,000 students from 56 countries of the world are participating in the XXXI World Winter Universiade. So far, the national team of Kazakhstan has 3 gold and 2 bronze medals.
In this race, skiers competed on a massive 15-kilometer start. In the women's national team, which defended the honor of the country with honor, Kazakhstan was represented by six athletes: Ksenia Shalygina, Nadezhda Stepashkina, Laura Shezhnybayeva, Aisha Rakisheva, Anastasia Rotova and Maria Luft. Ksenia Shalygina showed the best result among them – she was 11.7 seconds behind the leader and won the bronze medal.
Results of Kazakhstani skiers: Ksenia Shalygina 3rd place, Nadezhda Stepashkina - 6th, Laura Kinybayeva - 25th, Aisha Rakisheva - 30th, Anastasia Rotova - 33rd and Maria Luft 47th places.
At the end of the Universiade, Aisha will immediately leave the USA for the World Championship among adults, which will be held in Vancouver in western Canada. We are waiting for even better results from Aisha in the upcoming championship!
