ALMATY. December 2. Press center – For several years, Persian has been taught as a second foreign language at the University. Since then, the Cultural Center under the General Consulate of Iran in Almaty has been providing textbooks and technical equipment. The center also sends students, undergraduates, doctoral students and teachers to language courses in Iran each year to improve their language skills. This contributes to the expansion of cooperation between the two countries.
As part of this process, the University hosted an Olympiad in Persian.
Students of the universities of Almaty, who are studying Persian language, took part in the competition, which was organized by the Department of Foreign Language Teaching Methods and the Cultural Center under the General Consulate of Iran.
According to the results of the Olympiad, which was held in several stages, the first-year students of the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University A. Bekmurzina took the first place, G. Kilybayeva took the second place, R. Abdrakhman took the third place.
Winners and prize-winners were awarded with cash prizes. Certificates were awarded to other students who participated in the Olympiad.
– Persian language has been taught in Kazakhstan since 1989. In recent years, cultural ties between Kazakhstan and Iran are developing rapidly. In particular, the exchange of students, translations of works of great scholars, joint scientific, literary and historical conferences. Linguists and historians interested in the Persian language will be invited to Iran and will have the opportunity to hold joint conferences and participate in cultural events. We thank the leadership of the Cultural Center for the support of today's Olympiad, – said the representatives of the University.
