  ALMATY. June 18. Press center – The threshold score for admission for a doctoral scholarship is 75 points. The threshold score for admission on a fee basis – 50. The director of the Department of Higher and Postgraduate Education MES RK Adlet Toybaev announced it during a live broadcast on the official page of the Ministry of Education and Science in Instagram.

  This year, applications for doctoral programs will start on July 3 and continue till August 3.

  Entrance examinations for doctoral programs will be held from August 4 to 20.

  It should be noted that you can choose only one university and one group of educational programs to enter the doctoral program.

  Applications for admission for doctoral programs are accepted through the admission commissions of higher educational institutions. Then the applications are registered in the information system of the National Testing Center. The applicants take entrance exams in the regional testing centers.

  The schedule of entrance exams  has been developed by the National Center for Testing of the MES RK.

  The programs and the schedule of entrance exams will be informed to the applicants before the exam.

  We remind you that from this year the entrance exam for the doctoral program will be held in electronic format. Candidates write essays on the computer, take tests to prepare for doctoral studies, and examinations in the profile of the educational program.

  – Entrance exams are held for the first time based on testing centers in the electronic format

  – This format was tested in the admission for the master's program last year. However, this does not mean that the entrance exams will only be in the testing format. At the same time, future doctoral students write essays on topics approved by higher education institutions. The final assessment of the entrance exam will be summed up by the results of the evaluation of the essay, the test for the preparation for doctoral studies and profile exams,  said the director of the Department of Higher and Postgraduate Education MES RK Adlet Toybaev.

  Overall, the maximum score on the entrance exam is 100 points. Of these, the essay is 20 points, the Doctoral Readiness Test is 30 points, and the profile exam questions are 50 points.

  The examination duration is 4 hours.

  The number of state scholarships for PhD training for the academic year 2021-2022 is 1 890.

  Applicants with a master's degree and with at least nine months of work experience are eligible for doctoral programs; and/or those who have completed residency training in medical specialties.
