ALMATY. May 27. Press center – «After 40-50 years, the Kazakh land will turn into a desert, and most of the country will be dry!» Professor of the Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University, Dr. Biological Sciences Kelis Zhailybai, stated this. The scientist noted the need to take a number of measures to prevent an environmental disaster that leads to irreparable damage.
– There are two simple ways to prevent drought and reduce its negative consequences. First, to maintain the right ratio of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and prevent environmental crises, it is necessary to reduce the amount of oil and coal and use more alternative energy. Secondly, in Kazakhstan, many trees need to grow, such as oak, juniper, acacia, thuja, maple, chestnut, cherry, elm, poplar. These shoots have strong photosynthesis and live for a long time, – says Kelis Zhailybai.
According to the scientist, to preserve the environment, it is necessary to educate environmental patriotism and mass participation in the planting of trees. It is necessary to mobilize schoolchildren and residents, especially in rural areas.
– Each student, a young specialist and a local resident should plant and grow at least 5-10 trees. It produces about 12 million trees a year. If this process continues 45-50 years, a huge number of trees will grow in the country. No wonder our ancestors left the testament: "If you think about next year, grow a crop if you think about the next hundred years, grow trees, – said the scientist.
Kelis Zhailybai believes that the subject "Ecology" must be introduced in schools from 5-6 classes. Young people from school need to explain the environmental situation in Kazakhstan and constantly remind them of the need to take care of nature and take care of it. Then the growing consciousness of young people in the root will change. It is also necessary to organize special environmental contests and competitions among students. Every year, once every three years, students who showed positive results should be awarded special awards.
– It should be noted that last year a special environmental project started in the Kazakh National Women's Pedagogical University. Today, concrete measures are taken in this direction. In particular, scientists and students of the university developed the cheapest methods for seedlings grown from juniper seeds, maple, oak, thuja, and acacia. This method allows you to grow many seedlings and is economical. We hope that this will help to bring order in the non-critical ecology of the city, – said the head of the presses and public relations department of Women's University Zhandar Asan.
The results of a special study show that in recent years global warming has increased significantly. It is proven by science and public opinion. For example, in Kyzylorda, Turkestan, the Zhambyl and Almaty regions in the summer months, the temperature is often 38-50 degrees. There were no such unfavorable heat yet. This, in turn, negatively affects the food security of the country. Because of the drought in 2019, the crop of grain dropped sharply, and the grass in pastures grew badly.
According to scientists from the University of Leeds in the UK, by 2050 the world will reach the peak of drought. It is expected that the impact of these droughts will be very strong in the desert and semi-desert regions of Kazakhstan. Climate change causes a shortage of fresh water, and because of the heat increases the number of forest fires. Drought will cause various social problems that will lead to the death of animals and people and a serious economic crisis.
