UNT fully switched to electronic format

    • UNT fully switched to electronic format

ALMATY. May 13. Press center – This year the Unified National Test has completely moved to an electronic format. With the results of the UNT you can take part in the competition for the award of the state educational grant.

More than 120 000 people are registered to take the test, of which more than 8,000 graduates take the test on the first day. Applicants can take the UNT twice, they choose the date and time of testing. To compete for a state educational grant, applicants can submit a certificate with the highest score. This will greatly increase the chances of applicants winning the grant.

      – In 2019, the head of state Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich gave an order at the August meeting, in which he participated. The goal was set to change the Unified National Testing, to make it more convenient and open for children. Today we have reached this goal and are holding the UNT in a new format. And most importantly, given the challenges we see in society and applying new technologies, we are making big changes, – said Minister of Education and Science Askhat Aimagambetov .

The electronic format will help ensure maximum openness and create a comfortable environment for participants. Another advantage of this format is that the results of the UNT can be found out immediately after the test is completed. The number of points scored is displayed on the screen. In addition, a participant of the UNT can see the questions he/she answered incorrectly. If an applicant disagrees with the results of the UNT, he/she can file an appeal right away, without waiting for the next day.

      – Now the UNT is held in electronic format. Before that, children turned in test books on paper and then colored the answers on the appropriate sheets. We printed textbooks, and until these books reached, there were different risks. Second, about 2 000 teachers on duty were sent from one region to another in the summer, for which there was a lot of money and there were different risks. Third is openness. Now you see that every parent can watch his or her child pass online. Each child has one computer, one video camera, and is monitored through a proctoring system. Therefore, there is no opportunity to violate academic honesty principles such as copying. Another very important point, previously kids could only take the test once and based on its results take part in the grant competition. Now kids have two opportunities. They take the test once, if they do not like the result, they can take it a second time and take part in the competition with the same certificate. This is also big news, – said Minister Askhat Aimagambetov.

In general, the number of UNT subjects remained the same - three compulsory subjects and two optional subjects. Number of test tasks is 120, including 15 in History of Kazakhstan, 15 in Mathematical Literacy, 20 in Reading Literacy and 35 tasks in two major subjects. A total of 4 hours (240 minutes) are allocated for testing. Participants of the UNT have the opportunity to score a maximum of 140 points.
