A strategic document to support rural teachers is signed

  A tripartite memorandum of co-operation was signed between the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University, HertsCam Network and Teachers Lab. The agreement was signed during the working visit of David Frost, Co-Director of HertsCam Network, Honorary Scientist of Great Britain, to Kazakhstan. The signing ceremony took place at the UNESCO office in Almaty.

  The document defines the key directions of cooperation development in the field of higher and postgraduate education, science, culture and art, research sphere, as well as increasing the efficiency of educational, methodological and research work.

                                                   

  An important part of the document is the implementation of the Remote and Rural Schools (RARS) project aimed at supporting rural teachers in their professional development. The project envisages the development of teachers' leadership skills, as well as improvement of interaction between rural schools and the pedagogical university, which will allow developing a modern model of collaboration based on the British experience. This model will then be disseminated for the development of rural education in Kazakhstan.

                                                                           

  Gulmira Qanay, Rector of the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University, has already visited 6 rural schools in Almaty region to familiarise herself with the project. She met with teachers and spoke in detail about the benefits of the project. It is expected that the project implementation will help to improve the quality of education in rural schools and raise the level of professionalism of teachers.

  It should be reminded that the signing of the tripartite memorandum on the development of co-operation between educational institutions of Kazakhstan and Great Britain took place with the support of UNESCO.
