      Methodological seminar meeting with a native speaker Simon Etherton

      On December 09, 2022, a methodological seminar was held at the Institute of Philology with an invited specialist, teacher, and Director, Center for English Language Learning, of De Montfort University, Simon Etherton.

      The seminar “Active learning” was about teaching methods that require students to participate in learning by thinking, discussing, researching, and creating something.

      The event was held in the format of a creative meeting, during which Simon shared the methods and techniques of Active learning that students used during the seminar, practicing skills, solving problems, struggling with complex issues, accepting and offering solutions at the same time explaining ideas in their own words through writing and discussion.

      The Center for Academic Writing and Language Learning often cooperates with the Department of Practical Foreign Language and the Department of Foreign Language Teaching Methods of our university, conducting methodological seminars and workshops with teachers and future teachers of this institute.

      We plan to organize the next event for teaching staff and university students the following semester.
