      Workshop on Academic writing with Marisol Richmond at Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University – 2022. (Columbia University, USA) for English teachers.

       

      Academic writing is mainly used in higher education institutions. Therefore, a monthly workshop on Academic Writing is held at the Institute of Philology for teachers of the Department of Foreign Language Teaching Methods and the Department of Practical Foreign Language. The speaker of the event is a foreign teacher - Marisol Richmond.

      Participants are introduced to the academic text model, techniques for writing an introduction and conclusion, and structuring different types of essays and scientific articles. The principles of the formulation of the correct thesis and a capacious title, and much more are considered.

      At the third part of the meeting, scheduled for December 2022, the mechanics of a high-quality annotation will be analyzed in detail.

      Thus, each workshop consists of an exchange of experience with teachers; recommendations are given on teaching students different types of essays, writing an academic text, and developing critical thinking.
