The XIV Republican student subject olympiad was held

  ALMATY.APRIL 20. PRESS CENTER – Today the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University held XIV Republican Student Subject Olympiad on the educational program "Library Science".

  The organizer of the Student Subject Olympiad was the Department of Library science and Bibliography of the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities and Art.

  It should be noted that the first training in the field of library education in the country was opened in September 1956 at the Kazakh State Women's Pedagogical University at the Faculty of Languages and Literature. The first head of the Department of Library Science was the Dean of the Library Faculty, candidate of pedagogical sciences, associate professor - Alipbek Zhukebayev. This academic year the Department of Library science and Bibliography is celebrating its 65-th anniversary.

  The purpose of the Olympiad timed to this significant date, is the search and introduction of innovations in the educational process, development of professional courage and independence of librarians, identification of talents and abilities of future specialists.

  In total, 4 teams from southern and western regions of the country and Almaty competed in the Olympics:

  The order in which the teams competed was determined by a draw.

  According to the rules of the competition, which consists of a third round, the teams competed through self-presentation, questions and answers, development, and protection of research projects related to library activities. The jury under the chairmanship of Bakytzhamal Ospanova, Director of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan estimated contestants according to their creativity, innovation, use of information technologies, erudition, ingenuity, knowledge level, skills of quick decision making.

  As a result of the competition, the І place was taken by "Smart librarian" (Almaty), and the team of the West Kazakhstan State University named after Makhambet Utemisov "Akzhaiyk Amanaty" (Uralsk) took ІІ place. And the ІІІ place was shared by the team "Smart girls" of the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University (Almaty) and the team "Soul Guide" of South Kazakhstan University named after M. Auezov (Shymkent).

  All team leaders were awarded letters of thanks, and each participant received a certificate. Guests watched concert performances of talented young people of the university and took memorable photos.
