Science Month – 2025 is a comprehensive initiative aimed at promoting the development of science at the Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University, strengthening research culture, and increasing the scientific activity of students and young researchers.
As part of Science Month, held from April 3 to May 5 2025, more than 50 events were organized, including scientific conferences, practical workshops, poster sessions, debates, startup presentations, and roundtable discussions.
More than 500 students and approximately 300 faculty members took part in the events. The activities implemented within the framework of Science Month contributed to the development of students’ research skills, the formation of a culture of scientific thinking, the exchange of experience in the academic environment, and the strengthening of interdisciplinary cooperation.
Goals and Objectives
The main goal of the initiative is to enhance the university’s scientific potential and expand engagement in research activities.
Key objectives include:
- supporting research initiatives of students and young researchers;
- improving the quality of applied and fundamental research;
- fostering a culture of publication activity and commercialization of research outcomes;
- ensuring systematic evaluation and incentive mechanisms for research performance.
Incentive and Motivation System
Within the framework of the project, employees and structural units demonstrating high research activity were awarded in the following nominations:
• "The most active scientist"
• "Leader Scientist"
• "For his activity in top journals"
• "Leader in the H-Index"
• "For his contribution to international scientific cooperation"
• "For applied applied results and commercialization"
• "Active young scientist"
• "Developing student science"
Faculty members who demonstrated outstanding research achievements received financial incentives ranging from 150,000 to 250,000 KZT, allocated to support participation in scientific and practical conferences, publication of articles, and laboratory rental.
Ranking of Institutes and Departments
Based on the results of scientific achievements for 2024, institutes and departments were evaluated.
Among institutes:
- 1st place – Institute of Physics, Mathematics and Digital Technologies
- 2nd place – Institute of Natural Sciences
- 3rd place – Institute of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts
Among departments:
- 1st place – Department of Informatics
- 2nd place – Departments of Physics and Biology
- 3rd place – Departments of Chemistry, History, and Theory and Methodology of the Kazakh Language
Scientific Impact Index
The research activity of institutes was assessed based on the ratio of the number of citations of publications indexed in Scopus and Web of Science over the past five years to the number of faculty members.
Results:
- 1st place – Institute of Natural Sciences
- 2nd place – Institute of Physics, Mathematics and Digital Technologies
- 3rd place – Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology
Science Month – 2025 is a permanent platform aimed at the systematic development of the university’s research environment, supporting research initiatives, and enhancing the quality of scientific outcomes.
On December 30, 2025, the Republican Competition Commission announced the winners of the "Best University Teacher – 2025" title.
Representing the Kazakh National Women’s Pedagogical University, the prestigious title was awarded to Gulzhan Serikovna Orazayeva, Director of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, and Nurbapa Otanovich Mekebayev, Associate Professor of the Department of Informatics at the Institute of Physics, Mathematics, and Digital Technologies, PhD.
The competition saw participation from 502 candidates across 89 higher education institutions nationwide. Ultimately, 150 teachers from 37 universities received the title of "Best University Teacher."
In 2025, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan announced a competition for prizes and state scientific scholarships in the field of science.
The competition for state scientific scholarships was attended by 14 applicants from our university, as well as 2 people from our university for prizes in the field of science.
