Center for early childhood development and family studies

    • At present, the issue of early childhood development is a key prerequisite for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and improving the quality of human capital.

      In the Concept for the Development of Higher Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023–2029 (Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 248 dated March 28, 2023), one of the strategic directions for achieving academic leadership of universities is the establishment of research centers. In this regard, on April 17, 2024, the Center for Early Childhood Development and Family Research was established at the Kazakh National Women’s Pedagogical University under the Department of Preschool Education. Currently, the Center, in collaboration with parents, educators, and researchers, is piloting innovative approaches aimed at unlocking children’s developmental potential.

      Purpose of the Center: To provide methodological and information-consultative support to educators and students working with young children and engaged in family studies; to facilitate professional exchange of experience; to conduct applied research; and to develop scientific and methodological recommendations.

      Objectives:

      • to introduce innovative technologies and teaching methodologies into the preschool education and upbringing system;
      • to attract additional extrabudgetary funding;
      • to organize methodological support for the preschool education system and analyze the quality of educational services provided;
      • to implement newly developed and selected play-based materials, aligned with innovative technologies and methodologies, into practical work with early and preschool-aged children;
      • to establish effective collaboration with children, preschool educators, and parents regarding early and preschool childhood development;
      • to provide consultative and methodological support to educators and parents on issues of upbringing, development, and health preservation of young children;
      • to provide methodological, socio-pedagogical, and psychological support to students enrolled in the educational programs “Preschool Education and Upbringing” and“Preschool Educator and Speech Therapist”;
      • to organize academic classes and practical training for students at the Center;
      • to conduct applied research activities at the Center.
