The Personality Development Department, the Center for Women’s Leadership and Entrepreneurship organized a volunteer selection event titled "Sport, Society, and Leadership: Almaty Half Marathon."
The primary goal of the event was to select participants interested in volunteering for the Almaty Half Marathon and to provide them with essential information regarding the upcoming race.
The keynote speaker, Altynai Kenzhebek, Volunteer Manager for the Almaty Marathon project at the "Courage to be the First" Corporate Fund, shared comprehensive insights into the role of volunteers in organizing major international sporting events, their responsibilities, and the experience they gain. Additionally, the discussion highlighted how volunteering fosters personal growth, leadership skills, and networking in a new environment.
It is worth noting that, at the initiative of Kazakhstan, the United Nations has declared 2026 as the International Year of Volunteers.
